GARDEN
The Garden
The garden at Hollyhock House is large and has mature planting throughout. Andy’s father Peter is 84 years young and is head gardener which a full-time gig as the garden is so large. The entrance is through a dry stone wall, leading to the lower and upper terraced lawn where the arctic cabin, patios and pond are found. The terraced lawns are protected from the high sun by the forest type trees, perfect for playing croquet and other lawn games.
You can sit quietly on one of the garden benches watching the wildlife which is great for bird watching. There are regular visitors of pheasants wandering through the garden. The garden is a very tranquil and beautiful space.
The patio is a sun trap for a lazy sunny afternoon. We also have an arctic cabin, which has a BBQ fire pit so you can BBQ all year round. It comes with lights and there are power sockets for charging your devices. There are reindeer skins on the seats for chilly evenings.
The playground is a delight for the children and has a swing, towers and a slide for them to enjoy.
